A new study published in the Annals of Internal Medicine shows that enrollment in medical canabis programs has increased 4.5-fold from 2016 to 2020 with a decrease in recreational states. Use for conditions or symptoms without a strong evidence basis increased from 15.4% (2016) to 31.8% (2020). Thoughtful regulatory and clinical strategies are needed to effectively manage this rapidly changing landscape.
